February is the second Guardian of the year.

In Tolvoria, she watches over the hidden world as winter slowly begins to loosen its hold. Beneath the frozen ground, seeds and roots are still waiting — protected through the cold and almost ready for what comes next.

February creates the first gentle thaw of the year. But her most important task happens where no one can see it: preparing the sleeping earth for the awakening that is coming.

She knows that change can begin long before it can be seen.

When February’s work is complete, what she has prepared can be passed through The Heart of the Year, bringing the year one step closer to awakening.

Every year, February creates Tolvoria’s first thaw. From it, winter slowly releases its hold on the earth, preparing the hidden life beneath for the moment it is ready to wake.
